POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for designing cost effective products and meeting customer requirements. Responsibility includes consideration of the various factors affecting cost and time to market to achieve successful launch into production. Responsibility also includes investigation of new material / process with consideration of the industry standards to support product division strategy.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Perform design calculation to develop or maintain magnetic product.
• Identify and select platform / material to develop Bill of Material.
• Complete PAC/STWEP/STP design from understanding original requirement to product release stage.
• Support product launch with ACE-Q200 test and qualification plan and execution.
• Direct customer samples build and make all efforts to secure customer approval.
• Provide support to production operations as necessary.
• Active participate in TS16949:2008 audit and continue improve quality system.
• Participate in the product quality review with relevant parties on new product launch.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
• Work closely with CDC design engineering and product manufacturing group.
• Work closely with marketing and sales
• Visit customers with marketing and work in manufacturing for products release
• Ensure support is provided to program manager
CHALLENGES:
• Design manufacturable products that meet customer specifications, cost and excellent quality.
• Achieve highest level of customer satisfaction for new product qualification and release
• Meet program timeline and customer quality requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 3 years experience in automotive engineering department related to magnetic products
• Familiar with TS 16949 quality system
• Experience in products qualification test (AEC-Q200) and using common quality tools (SPC, Failure Analysis, 8-D report, FMEA, DOE…)
• Requires problem solving skills
• Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Team player skills / good interpersonal skills
• Good command in written and spoken English.
• Ability to follow-through with prescribed courses of action
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:
• University / college graduate with basic engineer knowledge applicable to magnetic transformer/devices.
