I. JOB SUMMARY
Act as a “Product Owner” and provide as such engineering and technical support for component manufacturing, assembly process and quality control. The Product Engineer takes the lead of any engineering aspects that relates to the assigned product being finally assembled in our facility of Foshan. As such, the Product Engineer incorporate a key and central role in the cross-functional organization of AMS and work closely with peers from Purchasing, Quality, Tooling and Production department.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Accurately understand the needs of product’s users and translate them into adequate product specifications.
? Prepare engineering documents during the development of products.
? Design and coordinate construction and use of jigs and fixtures.
? Design assembly process and prepare the work instructions for new products.
? Prepare and guide the trial production of new products.
? Conduct the new product testing during its trial production.
? Perform Design validation by state-of-the-art methods (CAE, Quality tools, PFMEA, etc..).
? Maintain and optimize the existing products throughout the engineering change processes.
? Solve technical problems on existing products for product manufacturing and design issues.
? Take part of the establishment and maintenance of the BOM structure of product.
? Manage the release of parts in the BOM.
? Work jointly with purchasing team to handle the sample quotations and assess the supplier’s engineering capability.
? Take an active part with our Quality department in resolving quality issues that may arise on existing and new products.
III. EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
? Bachelor or above degree of Engineering.
? Minimum 5 years of Product Engineering experience.
? Familiar with manufacturing and assembly processes for commodities such as Plastic and Metal.
? Result and solution oriented with clear client focus.
? Reports to General Manager in Foshan, Director of NPI/NPD and Project Manager for new products in Amsterdam on some specific occasions.
? Good Knowledge of Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), Engineering Change Process, Product and Process Drawings, Lean Overview, 5S, Built-in Quality is essential.
? Preference will be given to candidates with capability of AutoCAD, Pro-engineer and SolidWorks.
? Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate other core departments to complete multiple tasks.
? Good English skill in verbal and written.
